The Detroit Jazz Festival Foundation is pleased to announce a call for poster design submissions for the 2026 Detroit Jazz Festival (September 4-7, 2026).
This call for artists offers professional artists at any stage in their career the opportunity to submit 1 to 2 original poster examples. Must live in Metro Detroit; must be 18 years of age or older. The selected Artist will receive an award of $2,000, 2 Opening Night Party invitations, and an opportunity to be recognized at the Detroit Jazz Festival.
Details:
– Artwork must be representative of the traditions of the Detroit Jazz Festival, including, but not limited to, representing the jazz traditions, designed for a family-oriented event, free from political statements, profanity, and inappropriate content.
– Work for Hire- The resulting artwork will be wholly owned by the Detroit Jazz Festival Foundation in perpetuity. This original artwork is for the DJF Poster and may be used for other branded items as the Detroit Jazz Festival sees fit.
– 2026 is the 47th Annual Detroit Jazz Festival, and on the road to the 50th.
– The Detroit Jazz Festival is a JAZZ festival in the City of Detroit.
– The Detroit Jazz Festival is the world’s largest free jazz festival and has a global audience (via livestream).
– The Detroit Jazz Festival logo can be utilized in poster designs, but is not required.
Timeline:
– Deadline for submissions: Wednesday, July 1st, 2026
– July 7- July 10: consultation w/DJF Artist Director on poster design/specific and final approval of the draft
– July 17: delivery of Final Photo-Ready Artwork
